Shipwright Services

Servicing Sabre, Back Cove, and Cutwater Yachts

We specialize in servicing and commissioning new Sabre, Back Cove, and Cutwater Yachts. Our crew is authorized to correct any warranty items that may occur and are highly trained in the systems featured on these vessels. We select and outfit our yachts with proven components from Raymarine, Garmin, Furuno, Espar, Lewmar, Lofrans, and Wallas. Additional customer components can be installed on request.

Shipwright Background

Bellingham Yachts has a service department that has been constantly evolving to become the best at what they do for the past 30 years and make sure no detail is overlooked.

Our staff also includes a long history of commercial marine service experience. Nick Ouilette, co-owner of Bellingham Yachts, started doing yacht service work himself back in 1984, but was not new to mechanical work on boats or ships.

As a cadet at Maine Maritime Academy, it began with a four year career path to study and maintain ships propulsions systems while getting hands on experience aboard the academy's 550 ft training vessel- the T.V. State of Maine. Each year, two months were spent at sea, learning and experiencing the challenges aboard a ship, which werthen followed by nine months of class time.

After graduation and obtaining a BS degree in Marine Engineering, along with a USCG license as third engineer- unlimited Horsepower Steam and Diesel, it was time to go to sea aboard various ships as a watch standing engineer. This employment developed the experience and characteristics necessary to find the best employees that do outstanding work, are honest, and take pride in their accomplishments.

The crew has been led by Mark Enstad since 2003, who prior to moving to Bellingham with his family, had approximately 20 years experience servicing Grand Banks. Mark personally values all of our clients, and is responsible for much repeat business, and gives our customers the assurance that their yacht will be taken care of in a way that makes them satisfied. That is why our customers insist that only Bellingham Yachts work on their boat.

I have purchased and sold a number of boats from various brokers over 25 years, but none have provided the level of personalized attention, follow-through and quality of service as we had at Bellingham Yacht Sales. We could not be more happy with our new Cutwater 28 and the support, communication, and ancillary services have been exemplary. We plan to keep this sweet boat for a long time, but if the day comes for another we will go right back to James and the staff at BYS. First rate people. First rate service. 5 stars.
