Richard is a native to the Pacific Northwest and raised around maritime. Over the past 15 years Richard has worked hard to further educate himself – a student of the world. In 2010 he obtained his Commercial Pilot License and additional ratings/endorsements. Following flight school, he earned several Bachelor degrees from Central Washington University, put himself through the rigors of Air Force Reserved Officer Training Corps and spent extensive time studying Mandarin at China’s most prestigious university, Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. After Tsinghua, Richard worked for the U.S. Department of State as a Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Consulate – Guangzhou, China. To help pay for school, he owned and operated his own yacht detailing and restoration business in local marinas during summers.

Prior to working for Bellingham Yachts, Richard worked in commercial real estate specializing in facilitating the purchase and sale of multi-family properties between $1.5-$20M within the Greater Seattle market. Most recently, Richard just completed a two-year world exploration by way of his BMW motorcycle, living off the bike along the way. On the road and over time, Richard has learned the value of time in life, building strong relationships and the importance of enjoying what you do. Understanding business, world affairs & markets, multiple cultures and strategic methodology, he saw the world of yachts as a great way to add value to other’s lives by connecting them with a means to build great memories with friends and loved ones. Richard puts supreme value in long-term relationships and believes firmly in personal sacrifice when overcoming formidable challenges. Richard has joined forces with his father, John DeNike, at the Everett location of Bellingham Yachts. Outside of the office, Richard is a die-hard traveler, an avid pilot & boater, volunteer, and enjoys recreational shooting and spending time with family.
